AIRLIE BEACH, WHITSUNDAY

 

We then returned to Brisbane Airport and after a short flight we landed in Mackay and drove to Airlie Beach. The next morning we flew with a small 8 seats plane over the Whitsunday. Lots of islands, white sand beaches, atolls  and opal-jade waters. Sometimes the sea looked like a painting. The landscape was fabulous and we had an excellent sight. We took hundreds of photos.

In the afternoon we took the ferry for a tour through the islands. We strolled on one of the islands and then snorkeled in turquoise water from a white sand beach. The guides told us the landscape changes every day because of wind and water conditions. We were very lucky about the stop in Whitsunday Islands which was not in our original plan.
